Rise in sugar prices is a result of world processes and the tendency does not go out from Azerbaijan, Aydin Aliyev, the chairman of the State Customs Committee (SCC), told journalists.
According to Aliyev, the direct price of sugar increased throughout the world. Major sugar manufacturer is Brazil, which is biggest fuel importing country in South America. Rise in the fuel prices actually increases the direct price of sugar. The same time there is a drop in demand for sugar, while drop in the volume of output necessitates the reconsideration of prices.
These are the world problems and nothing to do with Azerbaijan, Aliyev concluded.
