In future, construction project for Oguz-Gabala-Baku water line may be expanded, reportedly said Martin Stache, chief expert for hydro-geological operations, CES Consulting Engineers. This company signed an agreement with JSC Azersu on drawing TEO for Oguz-Gabala-Baku water line.

Mr Stache said the project-estimated reserves make 5 m3/sec, while potential reserves of surface waters are estimated at 15 m3/sec.

В"We have some plans on water supply in Baku, but in the future we are aiming at

arid regions situated along the line route in Oguz, Gabala areas, then in Charkhan-Geychay-Agsu-Udullu. Total length of the pipeline is 280 kmВ", - expert said.

Stache also stressed the use of 2,000mm outside diameter pipes GRP type for the pipeline. Such pipes have the service life about 50 years.

According to the studies, water in this area meets international standards, including those by WHO.

Operational reserves of surface water located 430-450 m above the sea level are some 400 km3. This area is situated on Alazan-Ayrichay plateau. The exact project cost will be determined during the second stage of operations; it is expected to make some $300mln.
