Azerbaijan State Railway Department (ASRD) will receive 6 locomotives from Russia in the near future, the ASRD Chief Arif Askerov told, Trend reports.
Earlier the Railway had already acquired 9 locomotives from Russia to renew the moving composition of the Railway. According to the representatives of ASRD, nearly 80% of the moving composition has exhausted their sources.
Four locomotives were acquired from the North Caucasian Railway of Russia. These locomotives are used for transporting the increasing volume of cargos through the railway of Azerbaijan. Earlier Azerbaijan acquired 5 new locomotives from Russia.
The decision to acquire locomotives was made as a result of negotiations held in Rostov in August with the participation of the representatives of the railway administrations of Azerbaijan, Russia and Georgia.
