To date, a total of 11,530 tons of agricultural products have been sold at Baku district markets, Trend reports with reference to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture.
Over the period from July 2006 to January 2007, the volume of meat products sold totaled 329,12 tons, dairy products 287,3 tons, canning products in excess of 361,61, vegetables 49700 tons, potatoes 12,900 tons, assorted melons 12,600 tons and fruit 25,300 tons.
Markets selling agricultural products have been held since the end of July in an attempt to keep up the demand for customers and prevent a price increase. The agricultural fairs are held every Saturday and Sunday in the outskirts of the districts of Surakhani, Narimanov, Yasamal, Khatai, Nizami, Binagadi and Nasimi of Baku city.
