54,2% out of Total Investments to Azerbaijan Economy Fell at Foreign Investments

In 2006, 5963,6 mln. AZN were invested by all financial sources, enterprises, and organizations to Azerbaijan economy. This figure exceeds the investment capital by 14.8%. Trend was informed by the State Statistics Committee, that the volume of investments in construction work has increased by 9,7%. At the same time, the investments into construction work at the non-oil sector exceeded the corresponding figures of 2005 by 57,8%.

The weight of foreign investments reached 54,2%. The rest (45,8%) out of the total number of investments correspondingly fell at domestic ones.

85% of the total investments were spent on construction of socially-aimed facilities. New job vacancies have become available in result of the dynamic development of industrial and public facilities and objects in the country. Such enterprises like the Shamakhy Motor-Car Work, Imishli Sugar Refinery Plant and Sports Centre, factory on production of juices in Shaki, module electric power stations with the capacity of 87 РњWatt in Nakhchivan, Astara, Shaki, Khachmaz, Ganja International Airport and Chocolate Factory, enterprise on assembling computers in Mingachavir, new gas pipeline with the length of 326,3 РєРј in Nakhchivan Autonomous republic of Azerbaijan, etc were put into commission.

69,4% out of the total amount of investments were made by the enterprises and organizations to the major capital, 6,4% - banking credits, 14,2% - budget funds, 5,4% - personal means of the population, 4,6% - other.
