Azerbaijani Enterprises Become First in S.Caucasus and  Central Asia for Being Issued HACCP Certificate

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Khalilova / Natig Agazade, the Director General of Zygon Caspian Consalting (ZCC), announced that six enterprises of Azerbaijan specialized in food industry for the first time have been issued a certificate of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point).

With the assistance of ZCC consultants, the standards have been applied at Ganja-Sharab-2, TAC- Agua Vita, Balakan Tinning Factory, Baku meat production factory MMT, M-Pro and a network of shops Sevimli Dad.

After the completion of consultations, they were certified by an international audit company SGS, accredited in Azerbaijan.

Agazade said that the application of HACCP standards takes from 8 to 12 months. After the independent international companies carry out audit and issue certificate on their basis. It is issued for the term of 3 years and later re-certification is implemented.

At the same time control is done every year, he added. HACCP is a conservative and a rigid standard, because all technologies should meet the international requirements.

Azerbaijan was the first country in South Caucasus and Central Asia where NACCP certificates have been applied.
