Kazakhstan’s KazMunayGaz Attracts International Syndicated Loan at $1.05bln

Kazakhstan, Astana / Trend corr K. Konirova / Kazakhstan's national KazMunayGaz JSC signed an agreement on attraction of a syndicated loan in the sum of $1.05bln, according to the company. The bargain is the company's first operation in the syndicated loan market this year. The attracted funds will be used for re-financing of the loan received on 27 January 2006, as well as financing of KazMunayGaz's share in the North-Caspian project.

The syndicate included 11 banks, the main organizers of the loan being СITI, BNP PARIBAS, and SOCIETE GENERALE.

The annual interest rate for the loan is LIBOR + 0.5 %, which is a decrease compared the loan attracted in 2006 (LIBOR + 0.5% for first 15 months, LIBOR +0.6% for following 5 months). The loan was allotted for 15 months.
