Azerbaijani Industrial Minster Denies Controversies on Construction of Trans-Caspian Pipelines

Badalova / There are no controversies pertaining to the construction of pipelines along the bed of the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijani Minister for Industry & Energy, Natig Aliyev said on 19 October when commenting on the summit of the Caspian countries' Presidents which took place in Iran.

The Teheran summit was held at the highest administrative level, he said.

"At the summit we again made clear the positions of the Caspian Sea's littoral countries, and realized that our opinions on a range of issues are shared among our neighbours," Aliyev said.

The second summit on determining the Caspian Sea's status which included the Iranian, Azerbaijani, Kazakh, Russian, and Turkmen Presidents took place in Teheran on 16. As a result, a declaration was signed, which is the first official document on the legal status of the Caspian Sea signed by the countries.
