Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S. Aliyev / The explosion and fire in Gum Adasi field of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) did not affect the oil production in the area.
The Azerbaijani Interior Ministry reported an explosion occurred in the production section of the oil and gas department of Gum Adasi on October 25 at 03:55am. The drilling rig fell as a result of the explosion.
Rizvan Guliyev, the head of the Fire Department, and Natik Abbasov, an employee of the Fire Department both suffered as a result of the explosion.
An investigation has been launched into the case.
