Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Aliyev / The Azerbaijani Ministry of Industry and Energy completed development of a fuel and energy balance for 2008. The balance was submitted to the Government for approval, the Government reported on 20 November.
The key index of the balance is gas production, including the volume of gas which Azerbaijan will receive from the Shah Deniz gas and condensate field, the volume of casing-head gas which the Azerbaijani International Operating Company will allocate to Azerbaijan from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields, as well as gas received from the increase in production of its own gas by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR).
Gas balance is very important in terms of its export to Georgia. According to representatives of the Azerbaijani fuel and energy complex, export of gas to Georgia will be contingent on the gas balance of Azerbaijan and the gas volumes intended for export.
The fuel and energy complex indices for 2008 are being preliminary coordinated and approved. After development they will be submitted to the Government for approval.
