Azerbaijan, Baku, 12 April / Trend corr E. Ismayilov/ The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has half completed drilling of new exploration well in the onshore Jahandar field in the north-west of the country at the border on Georgia. Currently, the depth of the well is 1,436m, while 3,400m are projected, Fazil Ramazanov, the chief engineer of the Complex Drilling trust, reported.
Previously, research work was carried out in this area and it was decided to launch prospect drilling.
The drilling is being carried out by the Gobustan exploration drilling department of SOCAR to be competed by the end of 2008.
