Azerbaijani Government Divulges Forecasts of Gas Transportation via South Caucasus Pipeline

Azerbaijan, Baku, 10 November / Trend corr. S.Aliyev/ According to the governmental forecasts, the South Caucasus gas pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum) will transport 4.9mln tons of gas in oil equivalent in 2009, while in 2008 the transportation will total 3.3mln tons.

Gas transportation will comprise 5mln tons of gas in oil equivalent in 2010, 5.1mln tons in 2011, 5.1mln in 2012.

The South Caucasus gas pipeline exports the gas produced from the gas and condensate Shah Deniz field in Azerbaijan. The gas is exported from Azerbaijan to Georgia and Turkey through the South Caucasus gas pipeline. The condensate is produced from the Shah Deniz field and is exported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.
