Georgia, Tbilisi, 1 December / Trend corr. N.Kirtzkhalia/ John Tafft, the US Ambassador to Georgia, and officials of the Georgian government to take part in opening ceremony of small Sulori hydropower station in Salkhino village of Imereti region on 2 December. Construction of the hydropower station has been realized under aegis of a program of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) on Development of energy in villages.
Sulori Hydropower Station LLC privatized the station in 2007. The company applied to the program on Development of energy in villages with request to hold inspection and formation of lists of necessary rehabilitation work in summer 2008.
As a result of the developed business-plan, the company has got a loan from Kartu bank at the amount of 40% of the sum, which is required for rehabilitation.
