A horizon rich in natural gas was reached at depth of over 3,200 meters while exploiting well 40 of the Bagaja gas field east of Turkmenistan.

The well produces 686,000 cubic meters of gas daily, Turkmengeology State Corporation reported.

Specialists of the Lebapsk drilling unit continue drilling new wells.

Bagaja is one of the most promising gas fields in the Lebapsk region. The gas refinery complex built by Thermo Design Engineering, a Canada-based company, is located here.

The rigs in the complex are designed to refine 3 million cubic meters of natural gas and 50 tons of gas condensate daily. Bagaja extracted liquefied gas is exported, and gas condensate is supplied to the Seidin oil refinery to produce light oil products.

The production of liquefied gas in Turkmenistan has increased roughly 20 times over the past few years, which was possible by commissioning advanced technology rigs at the Turkmenbashi oil refinery and gas fields east of the country.
