In 2010, a gas-processing plant at the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) plans to process 4,38 billion cubic meters of gas compared to 3,9 billion cubic meters in 2009, SOCAR said.

"In 2010, as a result of the processing we plan to produce 4,38 billion cubic meters of gas, 98 percent of which fall to dry gas. It is planned to produce over 50,000 liquid products in 2010", the company said.

In 2009, the plant produced about 50,000 tons of liquid products, 22,000 tons of which fall to liquefied natural gas, and 27,000 tons to natural gasoline. Over 3.8 billion of gas from 3.9 billion processed in 2009 fell to dry gas.

At present, the plant's production capacity is 6.5 billion cubic meters of gas a year, but after reconstruction operations which are planned to be held next year, the capacity will reach eight billion cubic meters of gas.
