BP produces 70mln barrels of Azeri light oil from ACG

In January-March, the BP company (operator of a project to develop the fields Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG)), produced about 9.7 million tons of oil, the BP company said. Daily production of oil from this block will amounted to 797,300 barrels.

During the report period, BP's operating costs on ACG project amounted to $155.3  million and capital costs  - $341 million. According to forecast, in 2010 operating costs for the ACG project will amount to $587 million and capital costs - $1,584 billion.

In 2010, the company is expected to produce about 42.1 million tons of oil compared to over 40.3 million tons in 2009 in this block, the BP company said. Daily production of oil from this block will amount to 854,000 barrels in 2010.

Daily oil production from the platform "Chirag" will amount 90.900 barrels, from the platform "Central Azeri" - 184,200 barrels, "Western Azeri" - 285,700 barrels, "East Azeri - 158,100 barrels, and 135,100  barrels of oil will be produced from platform in deep-water Guneshli field in 2010.

In the first quarter, nineteen wells (13 oil-producing and six water-pumping) operated in the Chirag field. Daily production in the field amounted to 106,700 barrels. 

Twenty wells (13 oil-producing, two water-pumping and five gas-pumping) operated in the "Central Azeri" field. Daily production amounted to190,400 barrels during this period.

Twenty-one wells (15 oil-producing and six water-pumping) operated in the West Azeri field. Daily production amounted to 253,700 barrels during this period.

Fourteen wells (ten oil-producing and four water-pumping) operated in the East Azeri field. Daily production amounted to 127,900 barrels during this period.

Twenty one wells (11 oil-producering and 10 water-pumping) operated in Guneshli deep-water field, and daily production amounted to 118,600 barrels in 2009.

Shareholders of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli development project are: BP (operator - 34.1%), Chevron (10.2%), SOCAR (10%), INPEX (10%), Statoil (8.6%), ExxonMobil (8%), TPAO (6.8%), Devon (5.6%), ITOCHU (3.9%), Hess (2.7%).
