The British magazine "Diplomat", which is distributed among political circles and structures, as well as diplomatic missions operating in the UK, published an extensive article about the energy policy of Azerbaijan in the June issue, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Great Britain reported.
The article "The overall view of Azerbaijan's energy policy" noted that our country is one of the oldest countries that produce oil and gas, and that a huge number of innovations in this area have been implemented in Azerbaijan in late 19th -early 20th centuries. The author also pointed out that the formation of oil and gas infrastructure during the first oil boom and Baku has won first place in the production of oil in the world.
In addition, the article notes that Azerbaijan has hydropower resources since the mid-nineteenth century, and commissioning of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum significantly increased the weight of Azerbaijan in the energy supply of Europe. The author notes that a rational system of management of oil revenues and the success of the State Oil Fund in this area are recognized by various international organizations.
The author also touched upon the future of the energy potential of the country, saying that an extensive infrastructure of exports, and the availability of rich energy reserves will allow to further develop its capabilities in this direction in the future. The article notes that in addition to traditional energy resources, the country also has recoverable energy resources such as hydro, solar resources and wind resources. The author points out that the government had already established state agencies in the direction of the development of strategy on these resources.
