Disputes between Kazakhstan and Tengizchevroil on the illegal production of oil will be resolved soon, Kazakh Oil and Gas Minister Sauat Mynbayev said today.
"The question must be discussed and then we will be able to reach a conclusion," he said.
The Kazakh Financial Police has filed a criminal case against Tengizchevroil for illegally producing oil worth 212.4 billion tenge (about $1.5 billion).
"I do not think that discussions about the issue will take much time," Mynbayev said. "Everything should be regulated."
Tengizchevroil is developing Kazakhstan's largest onshore field - Tengiz.
