Uztransgaz ups dividends for 2009

The JSC Uztransgaz controlling the activities on transporting and delivering natural gas in Uzbekistan will pay dividends for 2009 in the amount of 85.90 soums for each ordinary share and 250 sums - preferred shares par value of 1,000 soums, the company reported.

In 2008, Uztransgaz paid dividends in the amount of $ 25.55 for each ordinary share and 250 soums - preferred shares. Thus, the company increased its dividend for 2009 on ordinary shares by 3.3 times and kept the figure at the level of previous year - on preferred shares.

According to the 2009-balance sheet approved by the shareholders, the company's net income rose by 28.2 percent - up to 982.868 billion soums in 2009.

The company's net revenues from product sales increased by 29.8 percent - up to 3.074 trillion soums in 2009 and the gross profit from sales - by 1.4 times to 1.618 trillion soums.

According to the audited balance sheet, in 2009 the  company's assets grew by 27.5 percent - up to 6.617 trillion soums, including working assets - by 23.3 percent to 2.717 trillion soums, basic funds - by 7.8 percent , to 1.737 trillion soums and capital investment - by 2.6 times to 813.4 billion soums.

Uztransgaz is a part of the national holding company Uzbekneftegaz, controlling the main gas pipelines. To date, the total length of gas pipelines in Uzbekistan is 3,200 km (one line circulation - about 14,000 km). Uztransgaz exploits 24 compressor and more than 300 distribution stations.

Uzbekistan ranks second among CIS countries on natural gas extraction and holds the tenth place among the largest gas-producing countries.
