Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct. 16 / Trend /

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) exported 1.3 billion cubic meters of gas in January-September compared to 708.3 million cubic meters during the same period last year.

SOCAR exported 121 million cubic meters of gas in September compared to 62.8 million cubic meters during the same period in 2009.

Today SOCAR exports gas to Georgia and Russia.

Deliveries of its own gas to Georgia are carried out within the company in the Georgian market through a pipeline linking the two countries in the Gazakh region of Azerbaijan. Power flow of gas through this pipeline is about three billion cubic meters of gas a year.

Supplies of Azerbaijani gas to Russia began January 1, 2010 and carried through the pipeline Mozdok-Kazimagomed. The pipeline has a capacity of up to five billion cubic meters of gas a year. However, Azerbaijan refused to import Russian gas.
