Azerbaijan produced 47.1 million tons of crude oil and condensate in January-November, or 1.6 percent more than oil and condensate production for January-November 2009, the Azerbaijan State Statistics Committee said.
The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), as well as foreign companies, is engaged in the oil production in Azerbaijan. Most of the oil and gas produced in the country accounts for the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli offshore bloc and Shah Deniz gas field.
Gas production amounted to about 24.4 billion cubic meters in Azerbaijan, or 13.8 percent more than the same period of last year. The volume of sales gas in this period amounted to 15.5 billion cubic meters.
Azerbaijan generated 16.7 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in January-November, or one percent less than the same period of last year.
