Eight oil and gas projects are implemented in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea, the Vice-Minister of Oil and Gas of Kazakhstan Berik Tolumbaev said today, speaking at the Oil and Gas Conference "Development of the Caspian shelf".

"Today Eight oil and gas projects are implemented in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea, one of them is Kashagan and other seven are at the exploration stage - Kurmangazy (based on PSA), Tub-Karagan (PSA), Zhemchuzhina (Pearl) ( PSA), Zhambai (PSA), in addition, the project "H" (a contract for exploration and production), Zhambyl (exploration contract), Satpayev (contract for exploration and production)," said Tolumbaev .

Also, according to him, under an intergovernmental agreement between Kazakhstan and Russia on the delimitation of the northern part of the Caspian Sea, work is underway on joint implementation of two projects of exploration and production in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea - Khvalynskoye (PSA) and Central (PSA).

According to him, development of fields on the sea is connected with many technological difficulties, and therefore active work is conducted to attract investment for the introduction of innovative technologies in the development process.
