5 million liters gasoline smuggled from Iran every day

A total of 5 million liters of gasoline are smuggled from Iran every day while the implementation of removing subsidies affected the price of oil products, Mehr News Agency reported quoting deputy head of anti-smuggling committee Mehdi Ayoubi as saying

"By implementation of removing subsidies we witnessed 45 days reduced rate of smuggling oil products, however the new prices still brings profit for smugglers and 5 million liters of gasoline are smuggled every day," he said.

Meantime, the price of smuggled gasoline and gas-oil in Pakistan and Afghanistan is higher than Persian Gulf states.

The smuggling market for Iran's oil products reduced by 40 percent by implementation of removing subsidies, however it managed to maintain new prices.

The highest rate of gasoline smuggling belongs to borders with Pakistan, Turkey and Iraq and southern coasts of Iran
