Kazakhstan "Petromidia" Oil Refinery in Romania is at the finish line to complete the modernization project, said in an interview to Trend CEO of Rompetrol Group Saduakas Meraliyev.

"21 October this year, we stop the plant till 6 November this year to run six new projects on it. This is the infrastructure and new facilities. Full completion of all facilities upgrade project is planned on February next year" - said Meraliyev.

According to him, "Petromidia", which is Kazakhstan's property already seven years, will be able to process 100% of Kazakhstan's oil safter the upgrade.

"Modernization of "Petromidia" will allow us to create here quite flexible technology. And, first of all, we'll recycle 100% of Kazakh oil, which is known to be sour. It is also about other kinds of processing, in particular Urals oil", said the CEO.

He recalled that after the modernization of the plant its design capacity will increase from 3,5 million to 5 million tons of oil per year. This will be a wholly owned Kazakh oil shipped by tankers in the Black Sea.

The main objective of this project is that the Kazakh company will be able from its raw material will completely produce a high standard gasoline - Euro-5, and by 2014 - the Euro-6 standart in Europe.

"Right now, we are simultaneously studying two more projects for the further modernization of the refinery due to the fact that Europe reduces the consumption of gasoline and diesel", said Meraliyev.
