Next year, JSC "Azerenergy" (electricity production and distribution in Azerbaijan) plans to commission a new gas-turbine station Janub, head of JSC Etibar Pirverdiyev said on Thursday.
He said the power plant's capacity will hit 780 megawatts. At the same time it will use three types of fuel, gas, diesel and fuel oil.
Pirverdiyev "From this point of view, this power plant is unique and has no equivalents in Eastern Europe and CIS countries.
Capacity of power plants owned by JSC "Azerenergy" amounts to 6,500 megawatt. The JSC has more than 200 substations with capacity of 500, 330, 220 and 110 kilovolts, as well as six hydropower plants and 13 thermal power plants.
