The Bishkek Thermal Power Plant suspends the use of gas and moves to fuel oil consumption, Deputy Director General of "Kyrgyzgaz" Evgeni Orlenko said at a board meeting of the Kyrgyz Energy Ministry on Friday.
"The Bishkek TPP temporarily moved to fuel consumption, so we decided to support the Kazakh partners, which supply gas to Kyrgyzstan," he said.
He said the KazTransGaz provides the north of Kyrgyzstan with gas through the facilities in Uzbekistan under the contract dated Sept.10.
"A cold snap occurred in the areas of the natural gas production in Kazakhstan. The KazTransGaz now uses the natural gas from the storage facilities, the gas pressure declaimed in Almaty," he added.
Uzbekistan also observes tensions with the gas supply.
"The Bishkek TPP will move to the gas consumption in the near future when the situation improves in Kazakhstan," he said
