As of 2012, SOCAR Petroleum will begin building gas stations in Azerbaijan for the first time, SOCAR told Trend on Monday.
It is planned to increase the number of gas stations under the SOCAR brand in Baku to 25-26. In addition, construction in the regions will commence in 2012.
"Only in 2012 the country plans to construct about 20 gas stations," SOCAR said.
In the future, the number of gas stations under SOCAR brand in Azerbaijan is forecasted to reach 80 -100 units.
SOCAR Petroleum shareholders are SOCAR (51 percent) and the American A.P. International (49 percent). SOCAR Petroleum was registered on Jan. 21, 2008.
SOCAR has a number of gas stations in Georgia. Gas stations are also gradually opening under SOCAR brand in Ukraine and Romania.
