Azerbaijan, Baku, Nov. 6 / Trend, E. Ismayilov /

As of Nov. 6, SOCAR daily exports over 6 million cubic meters of gas to Russia compared to 5.2 million cubic meters as of Oct. 19, a source in SOCAR told Trend today.

"Gas is exported from Azerbaijan to Russia in accordance with the contractual terms," a source said. "At present, daily indices exceed 6 million cubic meters."

Azerbaijani gas supplies to Russia started on Jan. 1, 2010.

Azerbaijan gas is supplied to Russia upon a contract signed by SOCAR and Gazprom on Oct. 14, 2009. According to an addendum to the contract signed in Baku in early September 2010, Gazprom was to get two billion cubic meters in 2011 and over two billion in 2012. However, the Russian side did not get the full amount of planned volumes last year.

The additional agreement to increase the volume of Azerbaijani gas purchased by Russia from 1.5 to three billion cubic meters, was signed by the parties in Sochi on January 24 this year.
