SOCAR: Azeri Light oil exported to 33 countries

SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) exports 'Azeri Light' crude oil to 33 countries, the head of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) Rovnag Abdullayev said on Wednesday during the conference 'Caspian Oil and Gas 2013'.
According to him, SOCAR has representative offices in many countries for the purposes of exploration of new markets and development of their own business. SOCAR is also actively involved in the energy markets of several countries. In particular the company is conducting major operations in Georgia. It has 110 gas stations covering 50 per cent of the market of oil products in Georgia.
Abdullayev also said that SOCAR is involved in retail sales of petroleum products in Ukraine, Romania and Switzerland.
According to Abdullayev, the company is participating in major energy projects in Turkey. Of note it is the co-owner of petrochemical complex Petkim, and is engaged in the building of a new refinery in Turkey with a capacity of 10 million tons per year, as well as in the construction of the port near Petkim.
