Azerbaijan's distribution system receives over 40 mn cbm gas every day

Currently the gas distribution system of Azerbaijan receives about 42 million cubic meters of gas per day for the supply of the domestic market and export operations

Currently the gas distribution system of Azerbaijan receives about 42 million cubic meters of gas per day for the supply of the domestic market and export operations, a source in SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) told Trend.

In particular, from the total volume of gas received by the system about 20 million cubic meters is pumped into underground storages of the country, 9 -10 billion cubic meters are used for the needs of 'Azerenergy' JSC (production and distribution of electricity in Azerbaijan), as well as about 6 -7 million cubic meters are provided to 'Azerigaz' production association which deals with the distribution and sale of natural gas to consumers in Azerbaijan.

About 2.5 million cubic meters of gas are exported to Russia, and 1.2 million cubic meters are delivered under swap operations in Iran to meet the needs of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan.

Gas supplies to Georgia are currently suspended at the request of the Georgian side. But soon the supply of gas to the neighboring country are expected to be resumed.
