Russia’s Energy Minister Alexander Novak said that he has discussed the reliability of gas transit through Ukraine with European Commission Vice-President for Energy Union Maros Sefcovic in Moscow, RIA Novosti reported Nov.25.
Russia and the European Commission have discussed the possibility of delivering 1.5-4 billion cubic meters of gas to Ukraine this winter, according to Novak.
He pointed out that the gas price set by Russia’s Gazprom company for Ukraine is lower than on European spot markets, therefore, it is more more beneficial for Kyiv to buy gas from Russia.
