The US imported 1.05 million barrels of oil from Azerbaijan in January 2018, according to the data released by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA). No Azerbaijani oil was imported to the US in January 2017.
The US imported 2.557 million barrels of oil from Azerbaijan in 2017, as compared to 3.175 million barrels in 2016.
The main export route of Azerbaijan’s Azeri Light oil is Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, via which it is delivered to the Turkish Ceyhan port.
Azeri Light is also exported to Georgia’s Supsa port via the Baku-Supsa pipeline.
Moreover, oil is exported from Georgia’s Batumi port, where it is delivered via railway from Baku, as well as from Novorossiysk port via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline.
