Gas transportation via Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline increases

In 2018, 8.3 billion cubic meters of gas have been transported through the South Caucasus (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum) gas pipeline, which is 16.9 percent more than in 2017, Trend reports referring to the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry’s report.

Most of the gas supplied through this pipeline accounted for Turkey - 7.2 billion cubic meters of gas (an increase of 14.68 percent). The rest gas was supplied to Georgia - 1.1 billion cubic meters of gas (an increase of 35 percent).

The length of the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline is more than 700 kilometers. This gas pipeline transports the gas produced at the Shah Deniz gas condensate field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian sea. The gas is supplied to Georgia and Turkey.
