The process of trasportation of a Satti jack-up drilling rig from Kuryk port to Baku was launched in Kazakhstan,Trend reports referring to Inbusiness news agency.
“The transportation is carried out by Kazmotransflot National Sea Carrier to be used on the Shallow Water Absheron Peninsula project in Caspian Sea area of Azerbaijan,” the report said.
“The rig is to be used for drilling work and it allows to drill wells up to six kilometers in length both in shallow and deep water,” reads the message.
“The construction process of the rig went on for three years and it was performed on two shipyards. Furthermore, American technology was used during this process,” the statement said.
The message said that the transportation was to be finished before June 1, 2019, but due to some delays, the date has been moved.
The agreement on passing of Satti rig in fiduciary management of SOCAR state oil company of Azerbaijan was reached in February of 2019.
