Koreans interested in importing electricity from Uzbekistan

Representatives of POSCO International, Korean largest trading company, announced the possibility of signing a long-term contract with Uzbekistan’s Fergana region for the purchase of electric energy, Trend reports citing the press service of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Energy.

The parties discussed the possibilities of cooperation on a new basis of public-private partnership in the city of Kuvasay in Fergana region.

Representatives of POSCO International and the administrations of the Fergana region and the city of Kuvasay discussed the project for the reconstruction of the district boiler house and the possibility of cooperation on its implementation on the basis of public-private partnership.

During the negotiations, the Korean side announced its intention to conduct a detailed analysis of the project in order to develop its feasibility study and the possibility of signing a long-term contract for the purchase of generated electric energy.
