Iran’s Jask county to turn into oil refining city and oil terminal

The port city in the Jask county of Iran’s southern Hormozgan province will turn into an oil refining city and an oil terminal, Iranian Minister of Road and Urban Development Mohamed Eslami told reporters, Trend reports referring to ILNA.

“Makran will be the residential "satellite" of this city,” the minister said. “Two settlements Tis and Makran, located on the shores of the Persian Gulf, must be settled.”

While commenting on the development of Iranian ports, Eslami stressed that the main goal is to increase the cargo capacity of the country's ports up to 240 million tons.

"Therefore, the development of ports, their connection with urban centers is on the agenda of the ministry," Eslami said.

The minister added that the investments worth 150 trillion rials (about $3.6 billion) are envisaged to ensure employment in the ports and coastal territories of the country.
