By Fakhri Vakilov - Trend:

In accordance with the Decree of Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, it is stipulated that Thermal Power Plants JSC will build high-efficiency cogeneration gas turbine units with a capacity of 7 MW and 17 MW for “Fargona Issiklik Electr Marcasi “JSC and in Ferghana region, Trend reports referring to the Uzbek media.

The main goal of the project is to strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan, introduce high-tech, energy-saving technologies in the energy sector, as well as solve the problem of lack of electricity in the Ferghana Valley, especially for industrial enterprises located in Ferghana.

The project was implemented in the city of Fergana by installing a gas turbine structure with a capacity of 7 MW as scheduled and was successfully launched in December 2019. A gas turbine commissioned in the autumn and winter season began to supply heat and electricity to the population of the city of Ferghana.

The commissioned gas turbine unit with a capacity of 7 MW will allow to annually supplying an additional 58.4 million kWh of electricity to the network, as well as 63,400 Gcal of heat to consumers. This will lead to a reduction in equivalent fuel consumption for electricity and heat production.

To date, 37 new jobs have been created to service the new highly efficient gas turbine unit. The construction of the second gas turbine unit with a capacity of 17 MW in the territory of JSC Fargona Issyklik Electric Markazi is in full swing, in accordance with the schedule and is scheduled for commissioning in March 2021.
