Georgian Nenskra Hydro invests $16M in social projects

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 30

Georgian JSC Nenskra Hydro investments in the implementation of social projects, including those on developing local infrastructure, made up $16 million in the first three quarters of 2019, Trend reports citing Georgian media outlets.

As reported, the company has implemented a number of social projects worth $200,000.

The projects covered improvement of small infrastructure, SME development and educational programs. They included, among others, full rehabilitation of ambulatory clinic in Chuberi, river bed cleaning and bank reinforcement works in Nakra, rehabilitation of Culture House and Sports Complex in Chuberi, access to heavy machinery and vocational training program for heavy equipment operators, land registration support, as well as services for agricultural sector.

JSC Nenskra Hydro is a project-based company established in 2015 as a result of cooperation between a state-owned Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water) and JSC Partnership Fund.

The company is developing the Nenskra Hydropower Plant Project in the Nenskra and Nakra river Valleys in Mestia Municipality of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region.
