Russia's Power Machines company has started to install equipment for hydroelectric units of the Farkhad hydropower plant (HPP) in Uzbekistan, Trend reports with the reference to the company.
Company will install generator units and turbine impeller, and replace impeller chamber on hydroelectric unit #1 of Farkhad HPP.
A turnkey contract to upgrade the Farkhad HPP was concluded between Power Machines and Uzbekhydroenergo in 2017.
All the main equipment for the modernization of HPP is manufactured by the Saint Petersburg power engineering enterprises of Power Machines.
The implementation of the project, which is scheduled to be completed in 2021, will allow the HPP to increase its annual power generation by 84 million kWh to 531.2 million kWh.
At present, Power Machines is implementing a number of hydropower projects in Uzbekistan, including manufacturing and delivery of a new pre-turbine disc gate with automatic control system for hydroelectric unit # 4 of Charvak HPP.
The company also works on the projects on the construction of small hydropower plants on the Dargom canal, the construction of the Nizhnechatkal hydropower plant in Tashkent Region and the modernization of the Tupalang hydropower plant in Surkhandarya Region.
