bp sees significant y-o-y growth in BTC opex

In the first three quarters of 2021, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) spent more than $96 million in operating expenditure and more than $22 million in capital expenditure, as compared to $67 million in operating expenditure and about $20 million in capital expenditure in the same period in 2020, Trend reports with reference to bp.

As such the company’s opex and capex on BTC grew by 43.3 percent and 10 percent, respectively year-on-year.

The BTC pipeline currently carries mainly ACG crude oil and Shah Deniz condensate from Azerbaijan. In addition, other volumes of crude oil and condensate continue to be transported via BTC, including volumes from Turkmenistan, Russia and Kazakhstan.

The BTC Co. shareholders are: bp (30.1 percent); AzBTC (25 percent); MOL (8.9 percent); Equinor (8.71 percent); TPAO (6.53 percent); Eni (5 percent); Total (5 percent), ITOCHU (3.40 percent); INPEX (2.5 percent), ExxonMobil (2.5 percent) and ONGC (BTC) Limited (2.36 percent).
