Iran’s NISOC launches new units for collecting flare gas

The National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) launched new units for the collection of flare gas at the Marun 6, Marun 3 and Mansouri oil production facilities on December 26, 2021, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

According to the report, the launch of these units will allow to collect 14.3 billion cubic feet (about 405 million cubic meters) of flare gas per year.

The flare gas collection unit at the Maron 6 oil production facility has been established by the Tamkar Industrial Group. The unit will let collect 14 million cubic feet (about 396,000 cubic meters) of flare gas per day.

Meanwhile, the flare gas collection unit at the Marun 3 production facility has been established the Hirbod Niroo Company. The unit will let collect 12 million cubic feet (about 340,000 cubic meters) of flare gas per day. The unit has cost $8 million.

The flare gas collection unit at the Mansouri production facility was also established by Hirbod Niroo. The unit will allow to collect 7 million cubic feet (about 198,000 cubic meters) of flare gas per day. About $9 million has been spent on this unit.

The National Iranian South Oil Company, a subordinate of National Iranian Oil Company, operates 45 large and small hydrocarbon deposits in an area of 400,000 square kilometers from Iran's Bushehr Province to the north of Khuzestan Province.

The company extracts about 80 percent of Iran's crude oil and 16 percent of gas. The company reportedly extracts about 3 million barrels of oil per day.
