BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan.23. Italy’s Snam company plans to invest 450 million euros in digitalization in line with the 2022-2026 investment plan, Trend reports with reference to the company.

“SnamTEC is the Group’s innovation and digitalization program to which approximately 450 million euros of investment will be allocated over the period covered by the plan. The program groups 52 projects into four main areas: security, asset resilience, process optimization and activities to improve business sustainability, and enables, predictive maintenance and project optimization, among other functions, so to minimize project costs and downtime, thereby contributing to security and continuity of supply,” said the company.

The objectives that Snam has set itself for the short, medium and long term require considerable effort and investment in innovation, in order to always find the best solution from both a technological and operational point of view. The Group has the aim of accelerating Snam's innovative ability to transform and manage its assets in order to seize the opportunities offered by the evolution of the energy system and to develop initiatives related to research and development, digitalization and innovation to increase the capacity for real-time data transmission and analysis.

Snam has also outlined its activities in the area of Corporate Digital Responsibility, which represents the set of behaviours and initiatives adopted by a company regarding the use of digital technologies in a socially, economically and environmentally responsible manner.

Snam, recognizing the importance of digital development as a key enabler for the ecological and energy transition, and wishing at the same time to ensure the conscious use of digital technologies and the equitable spread of digital skills, has decided to dedicate considerable effort and investment in this area, implementing specific initiatives in the three ESG areas: environmental, social and governance.
