Oil terminal in Makhachkala handled totally over 3,3 million tons of oil

The Makhachkala terminal on the Caspian handled totally 3,388 million tons of oil in January-October 2005 in the direction of Iran and Russia, which is for 76,000 tons more of 10 months of 2004, the regional oil transport market told Trend.

The terminal’s design capacity is about 8 million tons a year. Three berths at the port are capable to accept tankers of 10,000 tons displacement.

The sources note, in October totally 345,000 tons of oil were handled in the direction of Iran and Russia, which is equal to the September index. From this amount, 25,000 tons was handled to Iran, 320,000-to Russia.

During 2004 the port handled 3,96 million tons of oil, which is for 850,000 more of 2003.
