The Azneft Producing Union (PU) for extracting oil and gas under the Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR) applied to SOCAR with the inquiry for performing three-dimensional (3D) researches on the Gyuneshli field shallow part, where SOCAR produces oil and gas on the account of its own funds, PU told Trend. These studies will be held on the SOCAR field for the first time.
According to the SOCAR spokesmen, carrying out researches is needed to continue drilling on the field to discover new oil and gas-containing objects.
On the Gyuneshli field shallow water part one oil well has been drilled for Under-Kirmakin Svita, the SOCAR spokesmen said. However, its drilling was suspended until obtaining interpretation of the seismic data. In future drilling will be continued.
