Salyan Oil operating company drilled over one-half of design depth of two production wells at Kursangi-Garabagli onshore oilfield, SOCAR officials told Trend.
SOCAR representatives said the first well is 2,500 m deep and second 1,800m deep. The wells design depth is up to 3,500m.
8 wells are suggested to drill in the contract area in 2006. Four wells are purposed for production, two for water injection, one for exploration and one for appraisal. The company plans to invest up to $50mln in this project. Drilling operations are performed by Chinese drilling contractor Great Wall.
