Pa Azbeft with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is drilling 3 wells at 8 March field this year, Trend reports with reference to SOCAR. This project suggests three idle substructures repairs.

Experts of Azermorneftestroy and Kaspmorneftegazstroy trusts started reconstruction of substructures topsides. Substructure #730 is scheduled to be commissioned August 15. Alongside industrial facilities, a two-storey building for 25 people will be erected. The remaining two substructures will be commissioned in September.

8 March field has been developed since 1988 and gives 1mln m3 of gas a day. Located south of Absheron peninsula at the depth of 25 to 50m, it operates several high-rate wells. Well #589 drilled in 1989, hasnt stopped for repairs within 17 years. It gives 400k m3 of gas and 30 ton of condensate a day. In June 2006 new well was commissioned in this section with daily rate 100ton of oil and 40k m3 of gas.

There are reportedly significant extractable reserves of oil, gas and condensate at the field. Experts have selected nine points for new wells drilling. Such drilling is scheduled to be complete within half a year. These wells commissioning allows double oil production and give 2.5mln m3 of gas.
