Largest petroleum companies fight for new tanks construction in Ceyhan entitlement

The worlds largest petroleum companies are fighting for entitlement to construction of new tanks in port of Ceyhan. Trend reports with reference to Turkish media the lat application submitted consortium Г‡alД±k Enerji - Indian Oil Corporation Limited, which suggested spending $4.9bn for oil tank farm.

This is already the third application in a row Turkish government receives. First two were submitted by Petrol Ofisi, official partner of OMV of Ausria, and LUKoil of Russia.

According to Г‡alД±k Enerji IOCL proposal, tanks to transship 15mln ton a year will be constructed in port Ceyhan. Thus total capacity of tank farms in Turkey shall reach 30mln ton.

Petrol Ofisi proposed spending $2bn for construction of tanks with capacity 10mln ton of oil, while LUKoil suggested $2 to 2.5bn.

KazMunaiGaz is reportedly interested in oil&gas tanks construction in Turkey. However, the company suggests making the main investments in Turkeys north.

4 current tank farms of TГјpraЕџ, recent Turkeys oil market monopolist, are designed for 27.6mln ton of oil a year. 70 % of Turkeys needs are provided namely though these tanks. The largest of TГјpraЕџ oil tank farms is located town of Izmit and designed for 11.5mln ton of oil.
