Naftogaz of Ukraine and State Oil Company of Azerbaijan ratified Agreement on Principles of Cooperation

National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) have ratified the Agreement on the principles of cooperation, Trend Special Correspondent in Ukraine reports with reference to the statement of Naftogaz of Ukraine.

It is stated that the official signing of the Agreement is expected during the visit of Ukrainian President to Azerbaijan on September 7-8.

Ratification of the Agreement took place during the visit of the board Naftogaz of Ukraine Vladimir Sheludchenko to Baku in the composition of the delegation of Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers. The visit aims to participate at the seventh meeting of Azerbaijani-Ukrainian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation held in Baku.

Within the meeting of the commission, Sheludchenko, together with Ukrainian vise-primer Andrey Klyuev, participated at the negotiations with the first vise-primer of Azerbaijan, vise-president of SOCAR Yagub Eyyubov.

During the meeting, it was mentioned that the key principles of the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine in the sphere of fuel and energy complexes include providing assistance to Azerbaijan and Ukrainian enterprises in participating in investigation, production and refinery of oil and gas in the territories of Azerbaijan and Ukraine.

Sheludchenko held official meetings regarding attracting Azerbaijani companies to the realization of the project for the transportation of the light Caspian oil through Odessa-Borda pipeline and its future delivery to the ports of Baltic and North seas.

Besides, the intergovernmental commission considered the terms and possible volumes of delivery of Azerbaijan oil and oil products to Ukraine in the near future.
