TRACECA Forecasts Considerable Rise in Deliveries

At present over 4 million tons of oil and oil products is delivered year via the TRACECA transport corridor from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan in the direction of Azerbaijan. However, next year it is planned to increase this volume considerably, Akif Mustafayev, the TRACECA National Secretary from Azerbaijan told Trend

As of initial forecasts, after 2007 the volume of deliveries can be increased to 10 million tons of oil and oil products a year. In addition, this volume is also expected to increase at the expense of crude oil delivery for further transpiration via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main export oil pipeline, Mustafayev underlined.

The Azerbaijani railway will also be involved in delivery of oil and oil products. They deliver oil products to the Black Sea Ports of Poti and Batumi using this route. Moreover, the cargo owners not willing the mixture of their oil with the oil of other producers can use the railway transportation.
