Azerbaijan Supply Georgia with Gas from Condensate Field

Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. S. Aliyev/ The Gas Condensate Field of "Shah-Daniz" has resumed its supply of gas to Georgia via SCP (South Caucasian Gas Pipeline), it was reported. Some 200,000 cubic meters of gas per day is pumped to Georgia via this pipeline.

This year, in accordance with the contract available, Georgia is expected to receive some 250 mln. cu.m of gas produced from "Shah-Daniz". This volume is guaranteed, at the price of $63 per 1,000 cu.m. All additional gas, including their prices is subject to separate negotiations.

Currently there is one well operating on "Shah-Daniz". The daily production rate of the well reaches 5.6 mln. cu.m. and 1,500 tons of gas condensate. Primarily, BP has plans to put the third pre-drilling well into operation on the field in March 2007 to April 2007, with the fourth well operating thereafter. Once the two wells are in operation, BP Azerbaijan will resume its activities on the first pre-well, which was interrupted due to a gas leakage.

A total of 8.6 bln. cu.m. of gas is expected to be produced within Stage 1 of the development of the "Shahdaniz" field and 2.8 bln. cu.m. of gas is predicted to be produced in 2007.
